im a little confussed as my bike is a 1st aug 1990 Honda cbr 600 f L so does this mean i will have the hurricane 83 hp engine or will my bike have the 93 hp cbr engine ? any one know of a way for me to tell other than a rr dyno ?

If it's an 1989 you have 83hp. If youhave a 1990 you have 93hp. Simple as that.

 

the 1990 (93hp) engine has a "single trigger" trigger/ CDI mechanism.

An easy way to tell what engine you have is this: Find the wiring that comes from the left-side engine cover (starter and trigger points side.) The wiring goes up from the cover to just behind the gas tank and into a white multipin connector.

Examine this wiring. You can push up the nylon sheath and count the wires, or you can unhook the multipin connector and count the terminals.

If there are FOUR, you have a dual-trigger (87-89, 83 HP) engine.
If there are TWO, you have a single-trigger (1990, 93 HP) engine.

states the 83 bhp was upped to 93 bhp in 1990 then in 1991 was upped again to 100 bhp

does this mean the cbr600f was only out 1 year with the 93 bhp engine to be replaced with the cbr600f with the100 bhp engine ?
