Took 30 mins to change my old rubber hoses to shiny new red braided ones. That was last Thursday - still bleeding the brakes now! I'm nearly there. Patience and perseverance seem to be the key.

Also - I've found that ty wrapping the lever (tightish against the bar) overnight then releasing in the morning finds a few more bubbles each day. Think i got the most airated bottle of DOT4 that was in the shop.

Initially took 6 hours of bleeding / pumping / having a cigarrette / swearing before I got any pressure on the lever.

Default One way valve

I bought a piece of plastic tube which fits over the bleed nipple with a one way valve in it. This allows fluid to be pumped out without allowing air back in. Cost me the equivalent of about $10 from ebay u.k.

Another trick is to attach a large syringe full of brake fluid into the nipple with a piece of tube, open the nipple, then slowly push fluid "backwards" into the system. This should force even the most stubborn bubbles out.

Yes Mattson, done this myself, just make sure you don't overflow the upper reservoir

Cheers, SB

I had a problem bleeding mine, turned out my brake lever was holding in the piston just a little, removed the lever and they bled really easy, the fluid ran though by its self
