Default Tire sizes

I have a 1990 CBR600f specs say tires should be 110/80-17 front and 130/80-17 rear hard to find and expensive can i use 110/70 and 130/70 and still have good handling and what other tire sizes can i use if the 110/70 and 130/70 will work has any one tried Shinko SR741 rear and SR740f front on there CBR any input would be helpful

I know I couldn't find any 130s for a reasonable price so i went with a 140 out back. The first Sticky in this section has a ton of info regarding tire sizes and what works and doesn't, they'll probably have your answer there.

hi whats the maximus size on the rear tire? a want a 160/70 can this size fit? i have 88 cbr600 hurricane

no. a 160 cannot fit safely. the edges roll over and create dangerous handling conditions. dont do that. a 140 is the maximum SAFELY usable size, remember, your rear is only 3.5" wide, for a 160, you need a 4.5" which wont mount up without some spacers, then you need the 3.5" front from an F2 which necessitates F2 front end, due to fork spacing.
