Default starter motor question

i read in the manual that a faulty starter motor will use excessive battery power and starve the ignition system of power, just wondered if the engine would still turn over with a faulty starter motor as mine does butim having real probs getting a spark!

Default RE: starter motor question

A starter that's going bad will use a lot more juice to turn, but it will still turn. When it gets hot the problem usually gets even worse.

if you can push-start your bike and it runs fine but you have a prob starting with the starter then -maybe- that's a sign that indeed it's going bad. Just make sure your engine is running well first before you start throwing parts at it.
