my bike keeps stalling at the most random times. when i try to start, the battery is dead. Does anyone know what could cause this. i think it may be something wrong with the CDI or alternator. If it could be either of these, anyone know how to test?

 

sounds like just the a bad battery.mine did the same thing.your bike is probably charging fine but at low rpms when it needs the battery there isnt enough juice.have the battery tested it should be 125 cca.if not its junk.

 

yeah i have a good battery, turns out the stator connection was corroded and it shorted, thus not allowing it to charge correctly.

got a new connector in place of the old ones. seems to be running alot smoother, and the gauge lights seem brighter than ever. still a little worried about the stator since the wires are getting warm. is this usual? they are getting jst warm, not hot to where i cant touch them, but hot enough i know current is going over them.
