Default spark problem

hey guys.first post.signed up a while back to troll around because a friend of mine picked up a 87 f1.he raged the poor bike out the best he could.even layed it down a couple of times.anyway, the bike lost compresion and i now own it.trying to get it back running for a second bike, possibly teach the old lady to ride.pulled motor, changed rings.now have compresion.did get the bike started at first, but now i have lost spark to all 4 plugs.downloaded manual, went through checklist.pulse gen.,ignition coils check out good.have 12 volts at advised checkpoints.onlything thats left is spark unit.i don't have the tool to check it.is there a way to check without the inspection adaptor.or do i have to take the gamble and just buy one and try it.thanks for any help or ideas.also checked all conectors for corosion.
were would i find a new spark unit and ballpark price?

Good luck with that. Sorry no help. You have 12V on the Black/white at the spark unit? Make absolutely sure before getting a new one.

yea i did have 12 volts at spark unit.just to see.i ohmed out spark unit where it feeds each coil, one of them had a reading, dont remember what it was,the other one showed open.but that could just be because of the phase the pulse generator was in.thanks for your reply anyway.
