Some Questions About my Hurricane
I haven't had the same issue with mine either, but I would start with a new key anyway since it's the cheapest option. If it's still difficult to turn with a new key the lock cylinder is probably also worn & would need to be rebuilt or replaced. Again a locksmith could probably do that for a reasonable price, or there are new ignition lock assemblies available aftermarket as well.
Thanks again for the information. Do any of you guys have experience with the aftermarket switches? This one costs about as much as having a new key cut for my current switch (which has 50k miles on it) and may or may not help. I would just rather replace it if the switch is any good. Having a key for the ignition and another for the gas cap is not a big deal...

My current key really doesn't seem to be worn that bad, and when I'm riding my current key visibly vibrates and shakes in the ignition. I'm fairly certain my ignition is worn.

I put an aftermarket switch on mine a couple years ago and have not had any problems with it. I don't recall what the brand was that I used, but it fits & functions the same as the factory one. If you don't mind having to use two keys that's probably the cheapest way to go.
