Default So its not my battery!

My 1990 CBR 600 is having some ignition problems! I thought that my battery was having problems but it wasn't that! It seems like my engine wants to catch ignition but barely misses! I think maybe its my spark plug or something? Can anyone give me any suggestions!?

is fuel delivery okay?

if your spark plugs have good spark then maybe no fuel.

I think what m313 means is: Are you sure the gas is getting all the way to the carburetors?.

If you take a side panel off, you can see the flathead drain screw for the #1 or the #4 carb (the outside ones.) It's on the bottom/side of the float bowl. Unscrew that puppy a little bit and see if gas comes out of the bowl drain. Let all the gas out of that carb.

Then, leave the screw unscrewed a bit, and turn your gas on, and crank the engine. After a few seconds, gas should start dripping out of the float bowl drain again.

that way, you know your 1. petcock 2. fuel lines 3. fuel filter 4. fuel pump are all ok, before you look for some other problem.

Don't forget to tighten the screw back up!
