Replacing Connecting rods on 89 f1

Default Replacing Connecting rods on 89 f1

hey guys im trying to replace all 4 connecting rods and bearings and am having trouble past the point of getting the vavle head cover off, and i am having trouble even getting the head its self off and im pretty sure i have all the nuts off. If some could help me out or even give me some instruction on getting this little project finished. Thanks

take rubber or plastic mallet and gently tap all around the cover, that should get it to pop off easily.

do the same thing for the cylinder head. it's probably the gasket stuck on. tap around the base of the head and in the direction of the top. if all the bolts are off then you won't have a problem. also, take the cams out because the cam chain will hold them in place. this will make it easier to remove the head.

Check that you've undone the little bolt that screws up into the head. Its in the middle at the front of the cylinder block (outside). Then before you take the cylinder block off, there's another one hidden somewhere too.

If you don't have a manual, get the one from CBRextreme.com (but it doesn't refer to the head bolt above).
