Thinking of buying a Hurricane

Thinking of buying a Hurricane
I did a similar post a while back but situations have changed.
I have a friend who is going to sell his 88 hurricane. Its in good shape except for a stutter at around 3K rpm and seems a bit under powered. He says he'll sell it to me for 1500 (friend price). I am wondering if this is a good deal or not?

RE: Thinking of buying a Hurricane
"Never buy a used car from a friend". Same applies to a bikes & girlfriends/boyfriends (only more so).
So, if you are desperate to buy it, mentally write it off as costly, and then be really pleased when you get the problems fixed for zilch and find its a good buy!

RE: Thinking of buying a Hurricane
I am now the proud owner of an 88' hurricane 600! He gave me a final price of 1250 which I couldn't pass up.
Now to get it running well. Before putting it up last year he had a stage 1 jet kit and new D&D exhaust put on. I have seen a lot of posts about running "Sea Foam " through the bike to clean out the fuel system.
Any thoughts on getting her purring?
