What happened? Were you looking away and missed the turn? Didn't like watching that too much.

Don't really know what happened. Don't remember much of it. I was knocked unconscious when I hit. Ran wide and highsided is about all I can say.

I was run off the highway years ago doing about 60 MPH when a guy changed lanes into me. I when up the side berm and hit the fence so this is too close for comfort for me. I slowed down quite a bit before I hit the fence and wasn't hurt too bad...bike was in worse shape than me.

I have to admit to you all, I've been hiding a little secret on this bike...

Yes the infamous crack in the frame. I've known about it for a while, but I have been putting off getting it fixed. I figured now was a good time (may be going to the track, so I want it 100%), so I found a local naval welder who does some side jobs on his own time. I think it went great.

First he drilled out the top of the crack and ground away the surrounding paint just to ensure it wasn't bigger. Thankfully it wasn't

Cut through the frame on the side and bottom. Apparently the metal on the bottom is much thinner, as he kept blowing holes through it. Got it eventually with a VERY thick weld.

Ground it down a bit and sprayed some primer.

All in all it was about an hour. I feel much better about it now.

That's not going to break any time soon, glad to see he drill stopped the crack too. I will also add, if I did a wield and left it messy like that on any plant I'd be given a written warning if not fired. Should clean it up with a zircon flap disc. Wouldn't take much and would clean it up nice as. That said far better to have any wield than the ugly crack it had
