a question about my 1990
so i keep seein stuff about fuel pumps on these bikes, but i'm fairly certain mine has no such thing, i thought for motorcycles other than fuel injection the fuel was just gravity fed into the carbs. could someone clear this up for me
CBR's have fuel pumps. Portions of the tank sit fairly low so a pump is needed. You should be able to survive without one if you are stranded and your tank is fairly full if you can join the two fuel lines together.

Ebay here you come
Your going to want to try and find one with the rubber holder which may not be that easy I do know Honda still has them though.
You can see that parts here

well, i guess i know what the next part to hunt down is now, i swear, its always somethin else with this bike, never trust a kid that says it just needs a battery. also, though, when the motorcycle is running, it's only charging the battery at 7.5 volts, which seems about half what it should be, i checked the stator and it tests out fine, and the rectifier/regulator i cant test with my tester, according to the manual you have to have a certain meter. so i'm afraid the rectifier may be the problem as the connections all test out ok. any ideas to narrow the problem down?
If you're gonna get a fuel pump then you should probby break down & get a fuel filter too. If the old tank hasn't been taken care of, you could have rust issues down the line that a fuel filter would catch. Good luck with the charging issue, not sure where to tell you to go on that one, sorry!
