Default Mileage question for1987-1990 Hurricanes

Hi everyone,

What is the average mileage on a tank without reserve. I have a 1988 hurricane that I just bought and would like to have an idea if the mileage with different cbr1000 hurricanes of the same year. Taking into consideration different driving styles.
Thanks for any information

On average I get about 150 miles before I have to kick in the reserve. Now this is based on commuting to work so taking it easy. With more agressive riding I'd say between 130 and 140 before reserve. I have goten up to 170 on longer highway rides.

You know, I'm glad he asked that question!!!! I was wondering the same thing!!! I'm getting about 135-145 a tank myself, but I like to scoot sometimes so its hard to tell how accurate it is. Tell ya what, the gas mileage makes me miss my Katana!!! I would get 250 mpt (Yeah, miles per tank) with that bike! But it didn't have near the peformance.. I guess something has to suffer, and it looks like the gas mileage did. Oh well... 10 bux to fill up is a LOT better than 30 in my car! hehehehe.

I normally get around 38 to 41 mpg, but have dipped into the high 20s on extended very aggressive rides.

No I have to remember how to convert into Miles. Damm imperial system. :P

For commutting I get 115 Miles before reserve. But I'm a big boy and its all most inefficient high rpm low gear stuff.

For country hooning I get 100 Miles and that is where the speed stays above 120mph.

But for Touring I have done 150miles.

I got 44 mpg riding two up last week, pace was between 75-95 for at least 150 miles. I filled it up when I hit 200 miles on my trip, never went to reserve and put 4.5 gals of gas in it.

I AVERAGE 40-47 MPG. I USUALLY SWITCH TO RESERVE AT 180 MILES BUT HAVE NEVER RUN OUT OF FUEL.

I have an 88 1000, and I get real close to 40 mpg, city and highway, on the highway I cruise at 75-80 though, and in the city I don't exactly putt around
