its supposed to be(.6-1) inch, just looked in the book

Too loose or too tight can cause problems. 1-1.5 inches of slack is where it should be. Approximately, I know I am not getting the ruler out. When I measured mine on the VFR it was so tight I could not move it. I just picked it up three weeks ago so I guess the PO overtightened it. He seems to me like he wasn't too bright. Who puts only 6k miles on a bike in 9 years? I have had it three weeks and put almost 2000 miles on it. *shrug*
