Default Moving bars?

I have a question. Can i move my bars underneath the top triple clamp? What effects will it have? I've noticed on most of the newer bikes that they are below the top clamp. I'm also wanting to put newer controls on as mine are showing their age. can anyone help? Maybe i can get some f4 bars? What are clip-ons? Thanks guys.

There will be no added benefit to moving the clip-ons down. It will only add weight to your wrists. Sure, it put's more weight on the front end, but you arent going to notice any benefits. Only sore wrists and a sore back. Thats if it's even feasible to do. The clip ons are the "bars" you refer to. As for newer controls, I can only assume they are faded.......repaint them. Simple, cheap fix.

most newer bikes have longer inverted forks, there are plenty of aftermarket clip-on bars you can buy they just need to fit 37mm forks. you can put the clip-ons under the top clamp but you will probably change it back pretty quick, if you want to drop the front you can slide the forks up in the clamps, the higher you go the twitchier it will get. the most i've seen them raised is 10mm.

It wont only become extremely unsafe and unstable if you drop them that far, you will run into clearance issues with the radiator, front cowl plastic, headers, etc with the front wheel under braking. You wont like it when that **** happens. If you WANT to make it more uncomfortable, ride a buddies bike for awhile and then get on yours. Everytime I think maybe mines not so comfy anymore, I ride my brothers GSX-R.......yup, like a Cadillac again.
