lost key
short term solution: use a screwdriver or hot wire it!
long term solution: take the top clamp off and unbolt and unplug the key fob. btw, you will need a torx bit to unbolt the 2 fasteners. on the barrel of the key fob ,you should see 4 numbers stamped into it. take the thing to honda motorcycle dealer (i don't know if the auto dealer will make keys for bikes) and give them the 4 numbers or show them the key fob. they can cut you a new key from the numbers. try the key before you pay them.

If that doesn't work, take the key mechanism off (not too hard) and take to a locksmith and they can make you a new one. Probably cheaper than the dealer. Or, take off your tank and take that in.
I didn't reattach it to my lanyard... and when walking back to my dorm I must have dropped it... I looked for 3 hours the day I lost it... but on my walk to take the key fob off and have another key made, I kicked it... Not really exciting, but I'm really glad I found it.
