I Found Another F1 to Save

A little update on the bike.
I didn't like that the paint didn't match so I decided to paint the whole bike except the tank. The tank is so nice I didn't want to mess with it and the paint on the tank is a pretty good match.
I need to clear coat everything but hung the fairings to see how it looks.
It turned out very nice. Better than I expected.

Thanks Dodger,
I'm actually pretty good at painting and detailing. I learned years ago from a master restorer.
This bike was pretty easy because it was in really good shape to start with.
I took it out a couple of days ago and it runs sweet and drives like new since I rebuilt the forks and brakes.

Wow that bike looks really good. Nicely done. I picked up an 88 about the same time you found that bike in the shed. Good to see someone doing these bikes justice and I like that you kept it stock.
I'm assuming there are pics of your other ones around... The red/white one in background looks really nice also.

Thank you. Welcome to the site.
This one was in really good shape except it was put down on the one side. I had the parts I needed to put it back together so had to do it. It's a very nice bike. Runs great and rides well.
The red one is actually a 1990 that I will do original. I fitted fairings because it didn't have any.
I have a bunch more, the RR conversion bike that is on here, a 1987 and 3 1988's.
What condition is your 1988?

I got into CBR's in a very strange way. I was looking for an engine for another project...long story.
I found the CBR's easy to work on...and there are a lot of them out there for not a lot of money. It's a hobby for me to refurb and restore motorcycles. I'm retired and have a lot of time to do what I want.
I have had about 30 bikes over the past 3-4 years. I just sold a really nice clean 919. The bike was just too powerful for me. I couldn't keep the front wheel on the ground.
I have a Norton 850 that I am restoring. I also have a Triumph Bonneville 650 that is waiting to get into the shop.
I have a Honda Trike. Also a GS500 and Kawasaki Vulcan. The bike in this thread is also a rider now. So is the RR conversion bike.
