Hurricane burning the CDI
Past week i went to visit some friends, and whe i came back to home the bike shut down. Check the fuses and find 2 of them blown, the one from the starter selenoid and one from the fuse box (pics atached). Fortunately i got 2 extra fuses on the fusebox and change them, but when i try to start the bike again the CDI (ecu) starts to burn from inside (pic atached too)
Now when the starter switch is in ON position the CDI starts to burn unless i push the starter button or close the switch again.
A mechanic checked and make some tests to the wiring that leads the CDI with a multimeter, unplug some 12V wires and some other things and he says the wiring is OK and the problem was the CDI itself.
What you think?

Interested... my CDI is one plug from 1990 hurricane, not 2 plugs from the older years.
But first let me check the wiring, hopefully the problem is there.
Where are you located?

The battery negative terminal is connected to the chassis at the starter. The starter is bolted to the block. Corrosion forms between the motor and starter. Just pull one of the bolts and see the white corrosion all over it... That same stuff forms between the starter housing and block creating a high resistance connection. I cleaned mine and a lot of electrical gremlins went away.
