I am not getting spark to any of the cylinders so i looked in the book and it gives step by step directions on how to diagnose the problem so i went thru the steps and i have power going into the CDI and the book says to next check the resistance with an ohm meater of of 2 connectors i did that and the book says it should be running at about 450 to 500 ohms but mine is showing 4.5 meg ohms also when i bypassed the CDI by connecting a wire to the coils that goes back the the CDI box and tapped it onto a ground and when i did that i was getting spark so i have come to the conclusion that the CDI unit is bad
