HELP! Discontinued part.
I've got an 87 F1 and I am trying to piece this thing back to a ridable condition, however there is a part I need that Honda has discontinued. It is a rather trivial piece that someone with a set of bent forks wouldn't need anymore. It is the collar that sits right under the cap on the fork. It looks like a piece of thin pipe. It is more like a spacer than anything. Some jacka** stole the insides out of one of the forks. This bike sat up at a meth head's garage for three years and his meth head buddies stole little stupid crap off the bike, fuel filter, rear brake master cylinder, insides of the right fork tube. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. This is the last piece I need to bring this thing back from a 17 year hibernation.
Have you tried talking to a dealer? Most of the time, discontinued parts are just given new numbers. If not, ebay may be your best bet, since a lot of parts are hard to find for these bikes, there isn't too much advice I can give. Sorry man.
yeah, id say ebay is the best bet. probably gonna have to get a set of forks though.
typically when a new part # is comporable to a previously discontinued one, they note it in the micro-fiche. i have had that happen several of times already.

I am probably going to make some out of PVC or conduit material. I tried talking to the dealer and it is discontinued. It looks totally different on a F2. Oh well, thanks for the help!
