Default F1 died on first ride and wouldnt start

So ive had this bike for a few weeks now and took it for the first ride today after putting on new throttle and choke cables. i made it about 2 blocks from home and it started running rough like it was misfiring at the lower end of the tach then would smooth out. Then it died when i tried to give it throttle and wouldnt start back up at first, then after cranking it it would start and idle but as soon as i hit the gas it would die then it would barely turn over from trying to crank it, i ended up walking back a few blocks home (down hill most of the way at least).

The battery was trickle charged overnight a about a week ago and ive been starting it daily and it will start no problem and rev out smoothly, i havent driven it till today and it ran great at first then started acting up.

i was just cruising at low speeds <25 mph since its got no exhaust and open header right now so its pretty loud so i wasnt revving it up that high.

im thinking i just ran the battery empty since its crappy and i dont think it was revved high enough to charge it. im going to pick up a new battery if i have time tonight but im not positive thats the problem since it had power to crank it over for a minute trying to get it started before it was too weak to turn over.

i charged the batt for about an hr and it starts right up and revs out like normal

how can i check the rectifier? when the bike is off i get 12.5~ when its at idle i get 13.3 and when i rev it to 5k+ it goes up to 14.2.

I would say your bike is flooding, clean your carbs is the first step.

check your plugs and see what colour the electrode is, that will lead you in the right direction
