Default bike died mid-ride...HELP!

here's the deal, mid ride about 30mph... bike starts sputtering like it doesn't have gas. but it does. everytime i hit the throttle, it gets worse. i had to idle the bike to a gas station in 1st gear, filled up the tank. then when i tried to turn it back on, it wouln't turn over like the battery was dead. my components came on, my clock is a different time now. possible alternator issue or could the battery be dead?

any info would be great!

definitely sounds like battery connections are loose. Debug that before the other problems. get a voltmeter/multimeter to debug the rest.
Oh and even if they look decently tight, just take the connections off, and make sure the battery terminals and the connectors are shining metal and not dull oxide color. scrape them if they're the latter.

Do bikes have O2 sensors?, becasue that sounds like what that would be. If the battery died, who wouldnt have been able to drve it in any gear. That also goes with the loose connection, you either have power or you dont.

it sounds more like the battery than spark plugs. How old is the Battery? Have you changed it recently? If so recheck the connections and if you think they are tight, I would tell you to tighten them a little more (use common sense). When you turn the key to the "on" position and try to start does it sound as if it doesn't have enough power?
(Your simptons that you stated happened to me before and in my case it was that the connector's weren't securely tied down to the battery).

Bad spark plugs won't reset a clock.
