engine bogging under 5000RPM
Hey guys maybe someone can help me with my newest problem? I just bought an 87 hurricane 600 and when i opened it up the engine would not turn out more than 8 or 9K RPM without bogging. So I cleaned the carbs and installed larger jets (i went from #92 jets to #120 jets) and now the bike bogs upon acceleration under 5K RPM. Is there anyway to get the fuel/air mixture correct on these old beasts? or is there something else i need to do after installing larger jets?

odds are youre way too rich. When installing a larger main jet you need to add more air as well. (K&N and Airbox Mod)
You need to pull the carbs out again.
WHen you cleaned them did you actually take the float needle seat out? They have a filter on them that needs to be cleaned on each carb.
Did you set your float height? That controls your mix below 5000 rpm, should be set at 7-8mm (says 8 in the manual)
Fuel Mixture screws need to be set at 2.5 turns out.
Make sure your pilot jet isn't clogged.
Hope this helps.
