Default Clutch Clicking

Hey guys, my guess is that i need a new clutch but I figured i'd ask before i went out and bought all new plates. When i am letting the clutch out and the bike begins to move a clicking or clacking type noise comes from the case. also the odd time it will occur with the bike idling in neutral with the lever pulled in. Any suggestions?

1. does it happen when the bike is cold or warmed up or both?

2. does it shift into gear properly?

3. does it feel like the clutch is slipping?

4. have you tried adjusting the clutch cable?

5. how many miles does the clutch have?

6. does it happen if you change the oil?

My clutch has always clicked too when I ease the clutch. It never happens all the time, just every once in a while here and there. IT almost feels like there is "play" somewhere in the basket? It was never a problem for me, so I never worried about it and will continue not to.

clutch grabs fine but it doesnt grab gradually, as i ease the clutch out it has nothing then suddenly kicks in. Does it with the bike cold and warm, clutch i assume is original with either 59000km or 159000km on it (not sure as previous owner was second and not sure if it was rolled over.)

yep, clutch, but i think it is more likely the springs then the plates. sounds like the springs are past their service limit more so than the clutch plates themselves being worn out. but if you are going to tear it apart, might as well change everything.
