Default CCT question

I am getting a new CCT put on my bike next week due to hearing that it is bad. They knew exactly what it was at the shop. Made the apointment. My question is they said it would be ok to ride it between now and then around town as long as i take it easy on it. My question is if this is a true statement. I figure they might tell me that since if it does break it means more money for them. Can anyone let me know if i will be ok for short in town trips, or what bad could come out of this. I dont want anything bad to happen.I can wait a week if i have too. I appreciate any info/help. I have an 87 600F1 if anyone doesnt know that. Thanks

yeah, its fine. as long as it doesnt go too long without being fix. this is a common problem on CBRs. do you now if they are replacing it with a stock CCT or a manual tensioner?

They are putting a stock one on it. I read on here about people using a manual one. I figure stock will be fine for me. As long as it fixes it i will be fine. I just didnt want to ride it around between now and then and something bad happen to it. They said i was fine. Figured i would ask the guys who know. I appreciate the help.

yeah, but i believe the manual APE tensioner does not have to be replaced though. whereas you are likely to have to replace the stock one again in time.

I pick my Bike up after work. They called me earlier. Noise is gone. I cant wait to get it. Been a few weeks since i have rode it far. I just had a stock one put on. Rather than having to adjust it. I plan on getting a new bike in a year or 2 anyways. So it should be fine. [sm=groupwave.gif]
