Default CBR with Yoshimura

So I sold off my Gixxer 750 2 weeks ago and found this 89 CBR on craigslist for $550 a few days later.

Runs not to bad but has had some low rpm issues that I have been working out.. Has Yoshimura pipe but didnt know if they jetted it or not. I changes the plugs along with the oil (as I do on every bike I buy) and noticed that the plugs showed signs if being lean.. Which would explain why I ran like crap in the lower rpm band. After messing with the cabs a bit I finally got it to this..

Ill check the plugs next week to see if its still running lean.. But it is running much better already.

I have the parts on the way for a F3 shock change.. Also plan to put a new tire on the rear as its a 150/60 right now.

How many miles? It looks in good shape for what you paid for it. Did you have the carbs synced?

What ever you did, it sounds good. Don't mess with it unless you get any further problems out on the road. Tick over sounds about right.
Put some miles on it. Check fuel consumption over a few tanks worth and general reliability. Pics of your plugs would be interesting after you got it warmed up.
Good luck with your new toy.

The Yoshimura is a slip-on..

It idles great now and I can roll on the throttle under load and have some response under 6K (I like to cruise around at 4k) But I did notice that at 65 MPH that it was jerky like it was starving for gas.

the bike also has a 150/60 on it and I think the sprockets have been changed. Could be wrong but at 65MPH I shouldn't be at 6800 rpms. Whats the success rate with going 1 up on the front and 2 down on the rear sprocket? As for the tire.. When I get one later this year it will be a 140/90 or 150/80

The rebuild I'm working on has a Yosh s/o and it's loud as hell! I haven't gotten it outta the neighborhood as I'm still working on title issues, but I've been having similar issues on the low end of things. It's also cold here, so that'll effect the carbs too.
