Hey all, my first time posting. I hope you all can help. I have a cbr f1 for two seasons always started fine. Last month I took off the handle bars, gas tank, pegs, and kick stand and powder coated them all....upon putting everything back on my bike would no longer start from ignition but is fine when I cross out the solenoid. When the button in pres the front light goes out but there is a single click from the solenoid instead of the repeating clicking when one goes bad. It acts as if i am trying to start with kick stand down or something. I sanded under the ignition switch in case it was a grounding issue. but i am now at a lost...any ideals?

 

did you hook the kickstand switch back up? did you damage the kill switch when you removed it? Also check the start switch for damage. Check all of your wires for cuts or crimps. Also ensure your connections are tight on the solenoid.

 

I had the same issue. Its pretty simple issue really check your fuse with your Starter Solenoid or get a new Starter Relay.
Also go to the parts store and get some electrical cleaner in a can. Spray the crap out of this area or any wires and that will help to.
I had the same issue with the click. I just simply replaced the Solenoid which was like $20 off ebay where I sell most of my parts and buy them. Solved the issue.

 

I had the same issue described. Read this form went out and checked the battery terminals and VIEOLA!! Im a bonehead should have been the first thing I checked. You GUYS ROCK!!
