carb's spewing fuel
ok. today i removed carbs, b/c choke acting funny and #4 carb leaked at the bowl seal. fixed both problems, but now, my carbs are spewing fuel at the 2 hoses on top. i ended up cleaning the float filters, fuel filter, and choke guides, pins, whatever you call em. but i'm spewing fuel. are my floats somehow stuck open and over flowing? thanks for any help!

Don't worry about the float levels, they are probably okay - if they worked before. The only thing that you should watch for with the floats is to make sure one haven't cracked.
You have something stuck in the float assembly/valve. Clean them again.

well i did find, that 2 of the float pins? ( little sticks with rubber tips,) have a little pin in the top that's springy. 2 of em didn't move, and i got them un stuck. i guess i'll just have to take it back to work and remove the carbs and try again *sigh* thanks for the help. so i guess just make sure all the floats at least look level when upside down then?
You need to measure the float height when you have them open. There is a set measurement that they must be at to function properly. Measure the float level with the carb inclined 15 -45 degrees from vertical so that the float tang just contacts the float valve. Float level= 8mm ( 5.8" ). Buy yourself a small metric ruler.
i had the same problwm with my cbr400, i was advisewd to remove the floats, remove the needle valve, and gently rub the rubber tip of the vavle seat down with some abrasive sponge or something.
just gto remove the ring that can form or the glaze.
i did this and nowe they are fine
