Default Carb Question

Ok guys, heres the deal. I broke off a siezed pilot screw, so i had to buy a used set of carbs and build a good set for the bike using carbs from both sets. Got it all back together, and now its idling at 4000 rpm. Could being out of sync cause this?

I think another member went through this recently, and had to resynch the carbs to fix it.

ok found out what 1 part of the problem was, 1 of the throttle plates was screwey, wouldnt shut all the way. swapped it aout with another and it dropped the idle down to 1500rpm, I think with a decent sync it should be good to go.
