RE: Brakes?
i use ebc pads and rotors. if just pads, they run around $30/side and $20some for the rear for HH (sintered). Organics will be cheaper.
if rotors, $110-$120/disc. the rear rotor i don't know, haven't had to change it yet.
i've also used galfer pads, also HH. they are a couple dollars cheaper.

RE: Brakes?
sinister? evil?
when i was using oem rotors, i had used a sanding pad and hand sanded both sides of the rotor to de-glaze the surface. i know what you mean about the oem pads. you can just use organics or whatever is closest to oem pads, but if you are looking for increased stopping power, get sintered, not evil. however, sinister pads sound kick-***. if you get a set, let me know how they work out.

RE: Brakes?
if the rotors have score marks on them or warped. but ifthey look alright then you will have to get a caliper to measure the thickness. the min. thickness is stamped on the disc. take measurements from the lowest spots on the rotor. you can also tell from if the edge of the rotor is higher than the braking surface after it. like if you run your finger from inside out and you feel a high lip then you may need to change them, but the best way is to measure.
