Default Pad Brakes??

i have new ebc rotors on my 04 f4i and they squeak quite abit
the pads are oem and i think they are slintered or whatever you call it with the metal imbedded into the friction material
is this causing the noises? the rotors seem to have some small marks from the metal
can i swap in some new pads without replacing the rotors??
also sometimes at low speeds the pad will grab or something and make a grinding noise but after i re apply the lever the noise goes away
wtf can i do to stop this??
anyinput will be awsome
thanks

I would say change the pads asap to reduce further damage to your rotors. Pads are less expensive than rotors. You dont want to replace those.

I've used EBC and OEM. Both great pads. Ithink the Honda pads stop better IMHO. But you can try and remove the pads, clean them with brake cleaner and see if that does the trick. If they don't have sufficient meat on the pads, replace them.

i have already removed the pads and hit the rotors with brake clean and inspected the friction material, they still have like 90% life left on them, someone told me the aftermarket ebc rotors are softer metal than oem
so im wondering if the oem pads just dont work with them or what
the grinding noise is not really bad but its bothering me, is there any caliper lube that i can try? or is it just a pad slap?
im an automotive tech so i can do the work but and other suggestions on this issue or should i just go for the ebc pads without the slintered metal in them

Some brake drag is normal, but you shouldn't hear it over the engine. If you're just pushing the bike around you can definately hear that. Is that what you mean?

I doubt the aftermarket rotors are softer then stock. Try using some different, non-sinterd pads and if that stops it you have your answer along with reduced brake performance when things get hot

How long have you had these new rotors/pads? Mileage? Proper brake performance also has to do with bed-in. I've never worried about it on my bike, but....

the stock rotors were warped, so i went with the cheaper ebc rotors, the pads are oem with alittle over 4k on them but plenty of meat, the rotors are over 1500 miles on them so the pads may need a tad more break in but i really dont think so
if im rolling say under 35 and stop (light lever) after i start rolling again i will hear a rubbing grinding noise that is not normal at all
but i reapply the brakes and it stops after that
could that be the caliper not releasing fully??
i checks for uneven or tapered wear, nothing like that the pads are wearing fine
should i try bleeding them??

i low sided the bike a while back and had it in @ honda to check everything out
it sounds like metal on metal rubbing prolly from the metal in the pads
is it true that no slintered pads are a step down in performance?
thanks for the help guys
