Any one done later engine swap

No personal experience, but it would definitely require some major custom work to make it fit and function.. have you done any performance upgrades to the bike yet? I'm not trying to discourage you because I would love to see something like that done, but you can make this bike decently quick with the right modifications and save a lot of headaches..

Changing the gearing (sprockets) will have a pretty big effect on acceleration. -1 on the front sprocket and +2 or more on the rear and the bike will probably feel much faster. The sacrifice to this is you give up a little bit of top speed and run a higher RPM while cruising at highway speed, but if you don't do a lot of commuting or highway cruising you'll probably never notice the difference.
Stage 2 jet kit on an otherwise stock engine might actually hurt your powerband also.. should be running a full exhaust and upgraded air filter with probably a modified air box as well to require an aggressive jet kit like that. Get a good exhaust and a K&N or other performance air filter, drill the air box, and re-tune & sync the carbs to take advantage of that jet kit. A Factory Pro ignition advancer will also help pick up a bit of power..
