88 cbr600f front brake problem
hey guys!
im not sure if anyone else has had this problem, so i figured id ask yall since you guys know more about these bikes then i do haha
anyways im having problems with the fitment of the front calipers on a 88 cbr.
all parts were purchased from sellers on ebay.
forks from an 87 cbr600
wheel & rotors from an 88 cbr600
front calipers & brackets from a 88 cbr600
for some reason the left hand caliper bracket wont fit on the rotor...pics below
also on the right hand side, the bottom slide pin seems to be too long..
does anyone have any ideas what is wrong or missing?
any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
thanks

I'm pretty sure you have to completely install the caliper to the bracket before mounting it onto the bike, and then drop the whole assembly over the rotor & onto the fork. Otherwise you can't get the caliper to slide onto both pins with the rotor in the way.
There shouldn't be any fitment issues since everything is compatible between the 87-88.

Not many 600F experts online right now. Be patient...
If I were to guess, and I'm no F expert, I would say look at either your wheel spacers are on the wrong side making the wheel off center or the parts you got are not compatible or misrepresented years.
Edit: There's one now. Thanks Tahoe!

Wheel spacers could be an issue too if they aren't installed right as Demon suggested..
edit: here is a pic of the exploded front wheel diagram..

Any chance that the rotor is bent?
Listen to these other guys. Bolt that caliper on then try. These are floating brakes and they should have quit a bit of wiggle room, but only if both sliding pins are in. If they don't move then you should probably go over everything with polish and brake clean then grease it all up.

This could also be the problem. I would definitely check the fork spacing on the CBR vs GS triple clamps and see if they are the same.
