Default 1990 Hurricane Streetfighter (MX Bars, R1 race tail)

I know I've had a few threads, but I wanted to incorporate them into a new MAIN thread. I've been stalking the forum since last year and only been recently posting.

Here's some pics.

R1 Race Tail
Integrated LED rear turns
Fly Racing dirtbike bars
black painted frame
Acerbis Cyclops chinese knockoff headlights

i think the r1 tail is a little big on the bike
and nto a huge fan of those headlights,
but other than that the bike looks great!
nice job!

are there benefits of switching from the oem bars to the dirt bars?

I agree with it being a little large. But it was free. If I had a 180 on the back it'd look great, but when I put the new shoes on I'll just have 150/70-17s :/

The dirt bars are far more comfortable than the OEM ones. I have to admit, the R1 seat is much more comfortable than the old seat as well.

If I had my druthers, I honestly would probably have a different bike. I like fatter rubber in the rear and less boxiness, but the bike was 200, the tail was free, the seat and the headlight 70 combined. Add another 150 for grins and there's not a whole lot of cash put into the bike. I can't complain!

Thanks for the compliment!

free is always good! very nice!

ah ok. comfort feel wise? or position wise?
i dont mind the oem seat. the R1 must be like a pillow then!

200 is a steal!
i was excited when i got mine for $500
its a semi-streetfighter project as well

Body position leading into comfort. I'm 25 with an old broken back injury, so I prefer more upright positions on a daily driver. There isn't anywhere near as much pressure and weight on the grips from leaning forward, but I definitely notice the lack of windshield (even if the old one was wussy!)

ah ok i see what youre saying
mine has no fairings so ive never ridden a bike with a windshield. one day ill have to :P

i dont notice pressure on the grips. but i also just lay on the tank when its a long ride and that supports me

Yup! I used to lay on the tank as well. Still slightly uncomfortable after a while, but I did it. The bars I've got now SHOULD eliminate the discomfort that made me want to lay on the tank, but we'll see on longer rides.

Can you post pics on how you mounted the bars?
