Default Fuel Injection or Carbs

Have any of you owned both the Carb version and the injection version of the CBR1100xx ?

I am looking around for one at the moment and have spotted a very clean 97 bike on carbs with low miles.

I was holding out for an injection model at first but am now wondering if there is such a big difference ?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Some thoughts on https://cbrforum.com/fb.asp?m=240065 I havn't runned an FI Bird but suppose they are slightly better tuned than carb models until they are tuned. The FI models runs hotter by some reason, perhaps because of the smaller oil cooler.

I've got both a 97 XX (carbed) and a 2002 XX (EFI). By and large, once they warm up, they're the same bike. With the 97, you actually have to use a choke, but only while it's cold. This winter, that was long enough for me to start the bike, and by the time I got ear plugs in, helmet on, gloves on, it was warm enough to idle without the choke. Within the first mile, it was warm enough not to notice a difference.

The 97 has a smaller gas tank, and it's got a LOT less going on under the tank. It's also got a lower output stator. Much less complex bike on the outside, and under the tail. The other differences are analog vs digital gauges, and the EFI is tunable with a Power Commander vs having to do carb work.
