I can tell you that the ones made for cars are a joke, someone from the Corvette Forums bought one to test, if I remember correctly it actually decreased hp.
I also talked with an engineer about the air needing to be more turbulent or smooth flowing (again this was for a car but I would imagine the basics would not change) and he
said smooth flowing air will always make better power.
That being said, I would not purchase one, however, if you want to and do a test and let us all know for certain...
