When I purchased the 05' it had complete tool kit. Traded it up to the 06' 1000rr and it too also had complete tool kit so I think if you didn't get tool kit, it was because your dealer took it out!!!

Just curious to what you are calling a "complete" tool kit. My '06 only came with an allen wrench, screwdriver and handle. It didn't even have a spanner wrench for adjusting the suspension.

This is how rumors get started. The dealers aren't mysteriously stealing tool kits from your bikes. What the hell would they do with them??? The '06 bikes don't come with a "complete" tool kit: spark plug wrench, 17mm cheap *** open-end wrench, screwdriver, etc. It only comes with a helmet lock and a screwdriver with seperate handle. They did this for three reasons: 1) because most of the people buying the bikes weren't using the tools in the tool kit 2) with the ever improving technology, there are less and less things that need to be maintenanced as often and 3) help bring down the overall cost of the bike (every little bit helps). I work for a Honda dealership and they sent out a monthly newsletter (called "The Wrench") which dealt with this exact situation (people complaining about a lack of a tool kit). The "complete" tool kit is available if you really need it through Honda which will include the tools in the '05 and older bikes. I believe the full kit comes with: 17 mm box-end wrench, 32 mm box-end wrench, spanner wrench (for adjusting rear spring preload), wrench extension, spark plug socket, straight-blade screwdriver, #2 phillips screwdriver, screwdriver handle, 5 mm allen wrench, 8 mm / 12 mm combination open-end wrench, slip-joint pliers, and a helmet holder wire. All the tools are cheapo stamped tools and the wrenches can be purchased at most auto part stores from their high volume containers at around 75 cents apiece. My recommendation would be to purchase quality tools to use.
