I have noticed the Jardines are pretty loud too, a few guys at the local bike night have them. I was out looking and was goin to go with the yoshi carbon fiber slip, but stumbled upon a scorpion at too good a price to pass up. Sound is just a little louder then stock, but deeper, sop impression, makes a bit more power, and seems well constructed.

The tighter the exhaust packing is the louder it will be - more or less packing doesn't make much of a difference. I wouldn't restrict the flow by making the openings smaller though. My advice would be to go with a different brand, like Baxom said, the leo vince with the changable baffles.

If you are worried about sound, I would go with the yosh.

I have the Scorpion and I love it, but it is a little louder than the Yosh.
