Default Rear Spring questions...

Hello everyone, I recently went to a track day and I noticed my back end was way too soft. I talked to the instructors and they said that the bikes stock right now are meant for a 140 pound guy. I'm 6'2" and 205lbs and want any information as to what spring I should buy if I need to buy a new one. I also heard that I can't adjust the preload enough to get the right sag setting with the stock spring. Please, help me out here because I really need to get the sag set before my next track day.

At 205 you should have NO problem getting the static sag set for your weight. It MAY be a touch on the soft side but if this is your first track day or even your first dozen........I doubt highly that you ride hard enough to notice it being a touch soft.
You can set the sag and it'll work however that will not change the spring rate so to be "correct" you will need to buy a new spring. Is it worth the money? I'm sure it depends on your bank account and your ability to ride. You'll need to fix the front as well as only fixing one will uncover the other and it won't be balanced. Call Traxxion Dynamics. They can fix your forks and I believe they have springs for the rear as well.
You aren't heavy enough to NEED it though if that is what you are wondering.

Right on, that's exactly what I want to hear. I am an experienced street rider and pay a lot of attention to the way the bike feels and reacts but yes my first track day and I most likely can't feel everything to the extent I think I can. I've done a little research on the suspension set up for the preload, rebound and compression in both front and back so I will be taking it to a local race shop to have them help me. I'll also give those guys a call and see what they can do. Thanks a bunch!
