Rear Brakes

The front brakes are actually more powerful than the engine. Whatever the 0-60 time, you can go from 60-0 faster if you master that front brake.

When the front brake is applied to properly stop, especially in an emergency situation, all the weight is transferred to the front which lifts the rear which in turn leave very little rear traction the help stop anyway.

The rear brake *might* be worth 20% of your stopping power...

On sport bikes, the rear brake is used mainly for things that aren't equivocal to stopping in a straight line. Line correction, acceleration (feathering rear to keep front down while maintaining throttle), staying still at an incline at a stoplight, etc...

Thanks for that information guys! I've ridden bikes for a while but new to this type of bike. I can't believe how amazing these bikes actually handle and brake. I doubt ill ever ride well enough to worry about some of the things that some of you are describing but I'll take all information in and try to apply it to my current techniques.
