Default Powder Coating...

I want to get my wheels powder coated because on my old bike I had them painted and the paint started pealing real quick....but I have heard before that the heat can sometimes weaken your wheels...so my question is who has their wheels powder coated? Has it hurt anything? Is what I've heard true or did the person not know what they were talking about? Thanks guys.

had my front wheel powdercoated in white, will get rear done when it needs a tyre, lovely finish , i would say take it to an expert make sure they mask off bearing recess and disc studs.finish is much harder than normal paint,i know they do bake them in an oven, havent heard that heat damages wheel though , mine seems o.k and cost was £40-00.hope this helps.

My friend did it on his 1000rr and it turned out great, and it was fairly cheap too. Can't really comment on if it weakens them though because the bike was totaled about a month later.

no powder coating actually is a MUCH stronger paint than standard so i dont see how it could weaken the wheel or anything. I recently had my wheels powder coated. only cost me 60 for both wheels

no mines is powdercoated from a local powdercoating place. The only reason why i say its better because my factory paint started to chip after a while. with the new wheels, they dont chip at all and i install and replace my tires my self

Picked up my finished wheels today. I decided to go with the powder coating. Only cost me $150 for both. I'm very happy with the way they turned out...just cant wait to get them on
