Powder coating
Hey:
Many of the stock black pipes are powder coated, the big thing is to heat them in steps or follow the pc ers directions
as they probally done an exhaust or 2 before. Also you can go to www.techlinecoatings.com (exhaust) for a do it your self
Hi Tech Thermal Ceramic Coating in black, aluminum/chrome like, or titanium look, plus others. Good prices too. Highly recc.

I have had mine powder coated in silver. I think you mean the exhaust covers? Mine had badly rusted, no probs with powder coating at all, I dont think its hot enough to worry it up there, and there is quite a gap.

Having worked for a powder coater right out of high school I can say powder coating is heat resistant. They use it to protect all sorts of electrical equip that generates high heat. So exhaust shields would be no problem. Just let your powder coater know what kinds of temps you will be looking at and he can choose appropriate coating.
