Default Buying a 1000rr when i get home from Iraq

well im currently in Iraq and when i get home ill have the money to buy a new bike, i had my F4i for a little over a year and i became very comfortable on it to the point that it didnt excite me to ride anymore. i plan on buying one of the 08 left overs in June when i come home from Iraq and i was wondering if there are any common issues with CBR 1000rrs that i should know about before i dive into one.

I really recommend sticking to your F4i and really put some miles on er. I know being a soldier it takes more to get the excitement n adrenaline going, but learning to ride correctly is more important than that feeling like you're holding on to a rocket all the time. Thanks for serving too!!!

Try searching some of the old threads...this topic has been covered multiple times. I think that was where "we " were going with that.
Anyways my 08 has been a gas! No issues so far... just two recalls , one to beef up the clutch and one for a clamp that can fail. Mine has not used an excessive amount of oil. It eats rear tires.

Thanks for your service.

When you go to pull that right hand back keep in mind an article I read about two years ago - it highlighted a statistic that more marines had died in Crotch Rocket accidents within 1 year of returning from service than had died in Afghanistan that same year. It was just showing that all these guys came back with a lack of self control and with their bonuses burning a whole in their pocket and the results were unfortunate....

im at Joint Base Balad until June then i go back home, i was here in 08 and it was 138* so i dont think itll be too hot haha. i didnt ask for anyones permission to buy the bike lol. im a responsible person and have the respect for the bike to not hot rod around on it. i didnt do a search because our interenet barely works as it is so i figured i would just post up to get a direct answer to my question about common issues (like the F4i's CCT ticking issue) bubba hopefully our internet works a little better tomorrow and ill be able to PM you. Thanks for the kind of response i was looking for thrasher lol and thanks for the support everyone
