New To The HONDA World... ehhhhh
The time has come............ been a Suzuki rider my whole riding time. How bad are these 1000rr I see around? Plan on picking one up by the end of the week. Been looking for an '06 51 for about a month, but nothing (looking for a warranty as well, tiring of wrenching..... for the moment). No luck in the 51 department, so opting for the 1000rr. Have had GSXR 2 600's, 2 750's (one built to 1150cc) and a fantastic TLR (love the twin, but hate it too...) So switching over, also because the new gixxers look like complete ****!!!!!! Crappy/UGLY built in rear turn signals, and still not fond of the short exhaust. What should I expect of this bike? (Granted I haven't owned a "true" 1000cc bike (v-twin power is way different). Been hearing a lot about the Sato and Arata pipes with these things (Could agree more with the Yosh comments, they belong on gixxers, along with Micron (best power pipe). Just curious as to what you "darkside riders (Honda )" have to say about it.
Sorry if my grammar is off picked up two Yamaha 1100's jet ski's and hit the lake all day today, BEAT!!
God I can't believe I am switching over....

Congrats on your decision, Ive been riding for 10 years, no issues, my last bike went all the way to 50,000 miles no issues, just the basic maint. If you seen the old racing days of Honda, it was the Yoshi/Honda combination and they were winning races almost every week. So, it just doesnt belong to Suzuki. I too was stuck between the 1000RR or the RC51 but their was none available but a an 071000RR. The quality in the Sato exhuast is great, I probably would lean between that and the Leo Vince. I got the Jardine but its too loud for my taste.
good luck happy hunting for a great ride.

Glad I didn't pick up the bike this past weekend like I was planning on doing so, price at the dealership went from $11,499 to $9,789........... damn steal!! So that leaves, a $1,710 saving off the bat, plus the fighting for better price. Exhaust and PC off the bat!!

The CBR1K is a awesome bike. I love mine to death. As far as problems I only have the front end and a slight shimmy when I come to a stop. Looked at forks and front wheel and for some reason they are not aligned straight. Can't figure that one out just yet.
Don't know what year zuks you've had but the 07 1000 gixxer looks sweet in black and orange. Been thinking about getting one. I haven't had a single issue with my suzukis yet. And the tail lights built in to the rear just makes fender eliminating that much easier. The GSXRs are so made with a lot of things in mind for aftermarket.
You will not be disappointed with the CBR1000RR. Great bike. I chose it over an R1 that I thought for sure was going to be my next bike.

Well if you've been happy on a Sosucky as my wife calls them you will love a new fireblade. While the RC51 is a great bike the revamped 06-07 1000rr will take it anywhere including the track. I have a lot of friends with GSX-R's and they all would trade for my 061krr in a second. The newer is a 05 GSXR 1000 and in a straight line I just slightly pull him on the top end and on the corners its no comparison, the new fireblade is truely a 600 with a 1000 motor. Oh, did I mention that both GSXR's have crashed, and one blew a radiator in trafic over the weekend. I have 4500 miles on my honda they both have about 5500 miles on their gsxrs with way more problems. Oh and I can completely destroy my friends gsxr750(06) in the straight and the corners as well. hes got a PC, Pipe and filter.
So yes Honda FTW.
Congrats when it happens
