IMHO. . if you can't put both feet firmly on the ground, it's a safety issue. It really irritated me that my Honda dealer didn't have one (not to mention the frame slider kit).

Yeah, I'm 5'11", and my feet aren't flat when I stop either. I could probably do with a 1" drop. I did just install some no cut frame sliders purchased from http://store.58cycle.com . They have a lot of goodies for our bikes. Almost all of my stuff came from them.
