Need info for two things - '06 1000
Hello everyone. . I'm new to this forum since I normally post on the 900RR area. Anyway, I just picked up a new'06 blue and yellow 1000 today from a dealer and since I'm only 5'5", I need a lowering kit. The one I have installed on my '96 900 is a Chris Naardin product, but he doesn't have one for this bike. What I like about his designs are that they are fully adjustable. I really only need 1.5" to 1.7" taken off the height of the bike, but what I've seen so far is either a 1" or 3" non-adjustable kit. If I could find a fixed 2" kit, I could live with that. Anythingthat lowers the back end more thanthat, then I'll start to worry about the the front end being too high.
My other need are frame sliders. I'm a bit surprised that they were not stock so I need to install a pair. Recommendations would be appreciated since it doesn't appear that installing them in the normal locations will be very easy to do.
Thanks!
-Ken

Looks good!
Call the Tige Daane at Cyclemall.net in Orange County, CA, 714-258-7501. The Shogun sliders are well made and go on with no mods to the fairings. He may also be able to help you on a lowering kit. If you talk to Tige, tell him Greg in Indianapolis says hay!

RE: Need info for two things - '06 1000
I finally found a fixed lowering kit for the '06 CBR1000 from http://www.epicpowersports.com/products/Honda/749.html
They seem a bit unorganized, but if you contact customer service they are very responsive and this is what I had to do to get the kit I did get (It's not listed on their site for whatever reason). The kit itself looks similar to the one in the photo, but only one hole and fixed 2" lowering.
"abadfish" - you must have some really long legs. I've had to install lowering kits on both my bikes. Yes, I can sit on them and ride, but I prefer to be flat-footed when I stop and if you're shorter than I am, I don't see how this is possible. It's a safety issue, IMHO.

Actually, I haven't installed it yet because it's just too darn cold to bother and my 900 needs more of my attention. I will, however, install and post photos middle of next month (hopefully). Quality wise, it looks pretty good. . but I'd need an x-ray to be sure that there are no defects. I'd have rather purchased it from Chris Naardin, but he's dragging his butt on making one. The price WAS $155. . not sure why they increased it. Contact Danny Henderson at epicpowersports@bellsouth.net and let him know that he sold it to me for 154.95 (for the polished) and maybe he'll give it to you for the same price. It's more than similar looking kits go for on ebay, but I couldn't find a 2" kit.
IMHO. . if you can't put both feet firmly on the ground, it's a safety issue. It really irritated me that my Honda dealer didn't have one (not to mention the frame slider kit).
