No you don't - I insure my motorcycles with State Farm and my cars and house with Allstate. Full coverage for my '07 1000RR is $660 per year (Dallas, TX - married no children FWIW).

So are you saying other companies would look at me as having a 1kRR vs. state farm looking at 998cc's no matter what model bike it is?
That's what he's saying - I've insured three new bikes with State Farm and they never ask what model it is, just what size. Although they could pull the model info with the Vin number, I don't think they factor it into the equation. When getting a quote, they never ask for the model or VIN, just the cc's.

and it's minimal liability with no collision/comprehensive/health, but even so... am I going to get screwed at some point?
Only if your bike ever gets stolen or have a wreck that's your fault...

Ok i just got insured today Fort Worth ,Texas ..2007 Honda 1000rr, 29 Years old, married, own a house, 15 years riding experience, 7th motorycle-- This is my1st bike with STATE FARM- Bare minimum Liability, Theft, Wind, Fire, NO DEDUCTABLE!!!!! Get this!!!.......$280 a YEAR! Also this is theONLY vehicle i have with state farm. I called around and some agencies will tell you they can't do this deal and whoever did this is not doing it right, but i have the paperwork and everything i have is what i stated above!! Also she showed me on the computer that the rate DOUBLES for a 600cc. Crazy huh?!?! They go by cc's and they classify ANY 1000cc and aboveas a cruiser even though she knows it is a sport bike!

Well i guess your the lucky one. I was told by two different State Farm locations that they could not ins my bike unless they ins my cars.
Plus you guys got better quotes. I'm old with a clean record and they wanted over $600.00 just for my Bike and they couldn't touch my auto. I have a 630 rwhp 04 cobra, 02 Mustang gt and a 99 Jeep Cherokee. I pay $190 a month for all of them with a zero deductable.

I have a 06 honda 1000rr. State farm insurance in California for full coverage was about $50 a month. Now my bikes paid for and I live in Arizona and just got a quote from geico and progressive for $150 a month for liability.

I just got a quote from State Farm for car and bike. The bike came to $431, with 50/100/50, and $500 deductables on comprehensive and collision. I am very happy. So I will be buying an '07 without a doubt.

EDIT: 35 years old, married, child, clean record
