Default RE: Insurance shopping...

I have State Farm in New Jersey. 06 CBR1000RR, 34, married, clean record.Full coverage with 250.00 deducts for 670.00 a year. And I do not have any other insurance with them. If I added my autos the bike would have been around 400.00, but there auto quote was a bit higher then my current company so I just went with the bike.I asked my agent when he gave me the quote how they rate the motorcycles and he saidthey go only by the engine size and nothing else.

I have State Farm and pay $380 per year for an '07 1000RR full coverage plus a medical policy that covers myself or passenger. I also have a car policy with them, so that helps. I'm 27, single

Incredible prices you guys are getting. I will have to call up a few of these places and see how things pan out by moving our car over as well. We're paying a rediculous $900 for an 04 volve station wagon. Just not right. Avoid Nationwide.

i was quoted 50 per month through progressive i think it was, and that was just basic coverage, no comp or collision, 105 per month if I added unerinsured, uninsured, 1000 deductible, 5000 per person i hurt and i think thats it, Im only 21 and my record sucks lol. oh and for everybody out there, dont you use your honda riders of america discount? it knocked like 10 bucks per month off my quote.

State Farm full coverage, except no health, $280/year $1000 deductable. Clear history. I checked
several other places Farmers and American Fam. which covers my house and boat/car they both
wanted over $1000 per year. I cancelled my car and moved it over to State Farm. A couple of
my friends have State Farm as well with low rates. I was told it's because they go off cc's only
vs. type of bike.

Direct !!!!!!!!!!!!! Full Coverage $560.00 a year. I have a 04 Cobra an 02 Mustang GT and a 99 Jeep Cherokee and my ins is 190 a month through Nation Wide .They wanted over $3000.00 a year to cover my 06 CBR.Progressive wanted $1800. Direct Insurance is the ticket.

The only thingbad about State Farm is they will not cover just the bike. you have to have car ins with them.

I just barely got insured today on the F2. $453/year through progressive. I feel like for my situation that's pretty cheap (young, new rider, sportbike, 3 tickets and a not-at-fault in the last couple years), but I told them about the incidents on the web quote (didnt remember exact dates, but they were in the last 36 months), and it's minimal liability with no collision/comprehensive/health, but even so... am I going to get screwed at some point?

It just sucks that I have to pay every month even though I will only be riding for 6-7 months of the year. I will read over the policy contract when it arrives, but otherwise I feel like that was a decent deal. Anyone's thoughts on what to expect from progressive?

My local dealer sold thier last 05 F4i to a kid that is 18 in a town not far away. That kid told them his insrurance cost him 2800 for the year. WOW! No wonder I didn't have one of these types of bikes when I was that age. When I was that age, I had numerous speeding tickets, wreckless driving (a couple, that is what they handed out for doing a burn out back in the day).

So are you saying other companies would look at me as having a 1kRR vs. state farm looking at 998cc's no matter what model bike it is?
