I work for State Farm in California. It's about the cheapest around. The trick is to have a car insured on top of the bike so SF can assume that your car is a main form of transportation. Which then labels the bike as an extra veh.

Oh and accidents/tickets aren't rated on the bike if you have a car.

31 in ohio with statefarm, i pay 495 a year for my 2000 triumph speedtriple and my 2006 cbr1000rr. i dont have any other cars with them. maybe i will check out there prices for my gti? i use to have allstate they are ok also on prices, BUT they suck on claims. i had a bike totaled out and had to fight with them on everything. had to pay to transport the bike 180 miles home in a uhaul. didnt get my money back(i had towing on the policy) and i had to fight with them on the payoff amount for the bike. they were only giving my low trade in value due to miles on the bike. they will never get any policies from me again. i switched my bike over and am changing everything else over as i find better prices/better service.

i didnt read the whole thread but i cut off comprehensive on my bike if i lay it down. that cut the cost down dramatically. if it gets stolen or if i hit an animal, flood, etc, its covered. basically, anything out of my control is covered.

Those are all comprehensive coverages. Do you mean you got rid of collision? I hope you mean you cut your collision coverage.

Insurance rates, are also based on your credit rating, if you have so, so credit or bad credit your insurance rates will be higher. If you have good credit, than your insurance rate will be lower. Its a responsibility thing.

I quoted through state farm, which handles all of our insurance. A 1k streetbike, even brand new full coverage is like 500 a year. If you have all your stuff there you get multi policy discounts. My renters insurance is basicly free for having 2 cars and a life policy.
