Default RE: Insurance full coverage

I'm in San Diego with State Farm. For a 100/300/50 with equal uninsured motorist coverage: ~$740/yr. I'm 28 with a "clean" record. One thing I thought was nice is that I received a $20 check in the mail from State Farm telling me I over-paid. Every other insurance co I checked want $1100+. Nobody could touch State Farm's rates for me.

A bunch of you have me contemplating medical coverage. I'm guessing since this is a feature of my auto insurance policy that my normal medical policy won't be happy about covering me. I've got a basic Kaiser plan, if anyone has any input on that.

Since a few folks in here mentioned AAA, I'll have to give them a call to see there rates next time around..

State Farm full coverage including medical, towing, uninsured and underinsured motorist - $66/month. I'm 41 clean record and I also have truck, homeowner's and 2x life insurance policies with them. And yes, since State Farm did so well financially, they are issuing checks to policy holders. I got one for about 60 bucks - gotta love that.

Medical? How did you get medical with state farm? I was told that they do not offer such insurance with motorcycles becuase there is simply too much risk. Are you sure you don't mean medical payment to others (as in if you hurt someone else in a crash)? I tried to get some kind of gap/disability insurance in case I was seriously injured on the bike, but couldnt' find a single company that would offer it.

Ihave med payments for me and others. I think I got it because the bike was an add-on to my auto policy. My bike and SUV have the exact same coverage.

yeah if your friend has all that under the company, even 11 a month is to much lol i am sure with even 3 company vehicles, a car, house etc he is at few grand a month in insurance soo really he isnt coming ahead at the end of the month

and if you live and ride in heavy motorcycle states, ie Florida, Cali you will pay more, alot more than say someone in North Dakota where there is one biker per 20 miles lol. Here in Florida i can pass 10 bikes in mile let alone a bike night where we can see a 100 or more just in one spot. Yes having everything with one company is good you do save, if a home owner you get a discount if you are married with kids you get a discount.

The reasons for things like this is statistically people with more to lose or leaving behind will make "safer" choices on the road also an older rider has one more experience and makes wiser decisions then an 18year old who is believing they are indestructible.

some one was talkin about medical payments coverage Draco i think, well it depends on the company, i know State Farm was offering it in some states, again heavy states like Florida they may not offer it as there is to much risk they will be paying out with every loss. The first part of your coverage is liablity coverage so it pays other persons that you maybe be liablie for ie your passenger or someone in the other vehicle. IT DOES NOT COVER YOUR MEDICALEXPENSES as it isfor injuries to others meaning not you.

Wow it amazes me how varied the rates are for everyone. I'm 23 and have an ok driving record and pay $84 per month from Progressive.
